The number of cross-border e-commerce import orders in Yiwu exceeded 100 million for the first time.

On the morning of the 3rd, a batch of cross-border e-commerce bonded import goods, after being inspected and released by the customs, were sent from the Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center to consumers. This was the 100 millionth cross-border e-commerce import item inspected and released by the Yiwu Customs this year, and it also marked the first time that the annual import list volume of cross-border e-commerce in Yiwu exceeded 100 million items. Yiwu has become the city with the largest volume of cross-border e-commerce bonded imports in China.
The cross-border e-commerce bonded import business in Yiwu started in 2019, with an import volume of approximately 8.7 million orders that year. The following year, it exceeded 25 million orders. In 2021, the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone began operation, providing a larger platform for cross-border e-commerce imports in Yiwu. In 2023, the annual cross-border e-commerce import volume in Yiwu exceeded 60 million orders, and in 2024, it surpassed 80 million orders, achieving rapid growth. Today, the scale of cross-border e-commerce bonded imports in Yiwu has grown from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of orders, becoming an important growth point for Yiwu's "buying from the world". The imported cross-border e-commerce goods mainly include health products, cosmetics, infant formula, and toys, covering over 70,000 types of products from 74 countries around the world.
As the world's largest distribution center for small commodities, Yiwu boasts a rich variety of goods, a mature and diverse logistics network, and an efficient distribution system. Coupled with low logistics costs, cross-border e-commerce has developed rapidly. Currently, the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Yiwu Bonded Logistics Center are home to 121 cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
The continuously expanding volume of imports has put forward higher requirements for customs clearance efficiency. It is reported that the Yiwu Customs has introduced a smart supervision measure called "contactless checkpoint" in the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone. When freight vehicles pass through the checkpoint, after being weighed by the scale, the license plate recognition system can instantly verify the information, and the vehicles can be released in less than 10 seconds.
