The demand for China's aviation logistics market maintains high growth, and the international route network continues to increase

On May 16th, the Air Logistics Branch of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the "Analysis Report on New Freight Routes Opened Nationwide in 2024-2025". According to the report, the supply of air cargo in China continues to increase, with improved support capabilities and accelerated expansion of the route network.

According to the report, from January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025, a total of 288 new air cargo routes were opened nationwide. Among them, there are 243 international air cargo routes, with a network covering six continents worldwide. The number of Asian routes is the largest, accounting for nearly 50%; Next are 88 European routes; There are 29 North American routes, ranking third. The top three most frequently transported goods on newly opened international freight routes are e-commerce goods, electronic products, and general cargo.

In addition, from 2024 to April 2025, 45 new domestic air cargo routes will be opened, with mail express, fresh cold chain products, and e-commerce goods being the most frequently transported goods. Among them, the routes carrying fresh cold chain products account for more than 29% of the total routes, far higher than other routes. Special goods represented by fresh products have gradually become a new growth point in the air logistics market. In addition, it is reported that the Jiaxing Global Air Logistics Hub project, China's second professional air cargo hub, is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of this year.

Experts say that against the backdrop of increasing global market uncertainty, China's airline network is accelerating its expansion and continuously weaving international airline networks. At present, an air cargo channel centered around the four world-class airport clusters of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao, and Chengdu Chongqing is taking shape. The air cargo network that connects Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia markets, as well as Europe, America, Australia, and other regions, is gradually improving. Its supporting role in China's high-end manufacturing industry's participation in global industrial competition and maintaining stable industrial and supply chains is becoming increasingly prominent.
