On the afternoon of November 13th, the 2025 Shandong Cross-border E-commerce Industry High-quality Development Conference was successfully held in Jinan, hosted by the Shandong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Meng Xiangdong, the president of the Shandong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attended the conference and delivered a speech. More than 500 people attended the conference, including the chief expert of e-commerce from the China International E-commerce Center of the Ministry of Commerce, representatives from high-quality sellers such as Coupang, Walmart, and Made-in-China.com, and relevant service enterprises in the cross-border e-commerce industry chain, as well as representatives from the Shandong Cross-border E-commerce Association.
The conference focused on key areas such as the integrated development of "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belts", the optimization of overseas warehouse layout, and the innovation of digital marketing. It brought together mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms, industrial chain enterprises, and supply chain service providers both at home and abroad to jointly participate. The event aimed to interpret industry policies, release innovative cases, and share practical experiences, with the goal of helping enterprises gain a competitive edge in the global market.
Meng Xiangdong said in his speech that in recent years, China's e-commerce has developed rapidly. Cross-border e-commerce has become a key engine for promoting global economic integration and stabilizing industrial and supply chains, injecting strong impetus into the stable growth and quality improvement of foreign trade, and opening up a new path for industrial transformation and upgrading. Shandong attaches great importance to the development of new foreign trade forms such as cross-border e-commerce. Through policy innovation, model innovation and regulatory innovation, it has continuously optimized the industry ecosystem, stimulated the vitality of enterprises, and the development of cross-border e-commerce in the province has reached a new stage.
The holding of this conference is to provide a platform for enterprises, promote in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation, and jointly create a new situation of high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce in Shandong. The Shandong Council for the Promotion of International Trade will further play its role in connecting government and enterprises, integrating domestic and foreign markets, and smoothing supply and demand, and build a higher platform, create a better environment and provide better services for enterprises to deeply engage in cross-border e-commerce.
At the meeting, the Jining Chamber of International Commerce and the Shandong Equipment Manufacturing Industry Association, the Linyi Chamber of International Commerce and the Shandong Furniture Association, and the Binzhou Chamber of International Commerce and the Shandong Kitchenware Association respectively signed strategic cooperation agreements. Li Mingtao, the chief expert of e-commerce at the China International Electronic Commerce Center of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a keynote speech on "Seeing the New Value and New Opportunities of Cross-border E-commerce in the Great Changes of Foreign Trade". Relevant officials from well-known e-commerce platforms such as Coupang, Walmart, and Wildberries made promotional presentations.
In the roundtable dialogue session, the host conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with experts and scholars in the field of cross-border e-commerce and representatives of enterprises around the theme of "Digital Empowerment for the Development of Shandong's Characteristic Industries".
During the matchmaking and negotiation session, 46 foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce enterprises from our province engaged in supply and demand matching with the registered participating enterprises in cross-border logistics, overseas warehouses and supporting services. They conducted in-depth exchanges on core demands such as optimizing logistics timeliness, allocating overseas warehouse resources, coordinating cross-border supply chains, and upgrading customs clearance services.
The conference was rich in content, innovative in form and practical in effect, receiving unanimous praise from the participating units. It contributed the strength of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to further promoting the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce in our province.
