Dongguan Hong Kong International Airport Center builds a global logistics channel for "manufacturing in the Bay Area"
At the beginning of the new year, the Dongguan Hong Kong International Airport Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Airport Center") located in the Humen Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Dongguan has experienced a peak in shipments.
Dongguan Maritime Department and Sha Tin Customs jointly inspect the goods.
On the 21st, it was learned from the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration that as the world's first cross-border sea air intermodal transportation project, the airport center has extended sea transportation operations to Hong Kong International Airport, not only building a convenient logistics channel for the manufacturing industry in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, but also further consolidating the position of Hong Kong International Airport as an aviation hub. As of February 20th, the total import and export value of the airport center has exceeded 20 billion yuan, serving more than 800 enterprises in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and expanding the variety of goods to over 900.
The fastest time for customers from delivery to boarding is only 15 hours! Compared to traditional logistics methods, the airport center has increased efficiency by 20% and reduced cross-border logistics costs by 30%. "Mr. Wen, a representative of the companies that have settled in the airport center, said that the airport center has attracted three major cargo terminals and 125 Hong Kong freight forwarders to settle in.
Ensure the safe lifting of goods on site.
As of now, the maritime department of Dongguan has ensured the safety of 1838 import and export ships at the airport center, with over 221.55 million tons of "Made in Dongguan" and "Made in the Bay Area" transported more smoothly and quickly to the world through sea air intermodal transportation.

The goods are transported to the airport center by a dedicated vehicle.
It is reported that the current pilot plan for the airport center is to select the Baixing Logistics Center in the Humen Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Dongguan. At this stage, the airport center will move its core functions such as Hong Kong airport security checks, palletizing, and receiving to Dongguan Port, and complete market cultivation. The long-term plan is to select the site near Dongguan Port, jointly promoted by the Port Group and the Hong Kong Airport Authority, which is an important supporting facility for the Hong Kong International Airport in the Greater Bay Area. The project construction includes fully automated terminal engineering, intelligent air freight stations, high value-added logistics centers, modern international express warehouses, and high-efficiency freight forwarding warehouses. The annual cargo handling capacity will exceed 1 million tons, creating more than 6000 job opportunities, and contributing an annual import and export value of 700 billion yuan to foreign trade.
