Global efficient lighting Eli authorized lamp factory product inspection and certification service
Eli (efficient lighting initiative) global efficient lighting product certification is an international lighting product energy efficiency and quality certification project led by China, which aims to break through regional restrictions, promote high-quality and efficient lighting products, reduce energy consumption, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. On March 1st, 2006, Eli certification was officially launched, and the project was managed and operated by the bid winning Certification Center of China Institute of standardization.
The Eli project was initiated and funded by the global environment facility (GEF) in 2000 and implemented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). It has been successfully promoted in seven countries, including Argentina, Peru, the Philippines, the Czech Republic, Latvia, South Africa and Hungary. The fair and international characteristics of Eli quality standard system provide guarantee for decision makers and managers of governments in various countries to avoid repeated development of lighting product standards and directly adopt Eli certified products or Eli technical specifications.
Eli -- international symbol of high-quality and efficient lighting products
From 2000 to 2003, Eli was implemented in Argentina, the Philippines, Peru, South Africa, Latvia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The project has been highly recognized by the international community. In 2005, CSC, entrusted by the International Finance Corporation and funded by the global environment foundation, continued to carry out the certification and promotion of efficient lighting products worldwide. Eli global efficient lighting product certification is fully responsible by the newly established Eli quality certification body, which is led by CSC and employs experts from Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America to work together.
The new Eli global high-efficiency lighting product certification will continue to cooperate with government departments, relevant international organizations, lighting enterprises, testing laboratories, lighting associations, dealers and other organizations to promote and popularize high-efficiency lighting products, improve social awareness of high-efficiency lighting products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the basis of the previous seven country Eli project. At the same time, Eli actively seeks global strategic partners and establishes Eli global service network. In the second half of 2006 and 2007, Eli will focus on developing Asia / Asia Pacific and Latin America, and explore the coordination and mutual recognition with voluntary energy efficiency labeling projects in various countries.
Any manufacturer and seller of lighting products can submit an application for Eli certification to the Eli quality certification authority, which will review and evaluate the application materials and test reports (issued by the accredited testing laboratory) submitted by the applicant according to the requirements of the technical specifications for Eli certification. Applicants who have obtained Eli certification can use the Eli certification mark and certificate.
In 2006, the Eli quality certification body will develop the following Eli certification technical specifications for efficient lighting products:
Self ballasted fluorescent lamp (CFL) (implemented in March 2006)
Double ended lamp (implemented in June, 2006)
Fluorescent lamp ballast (implemented in December, 2006)
With the continuous expansion of Eli, the certification project will cover more products. Eli encourages manufacturers to produce low pollution environmental protection lighting products and encourage them to declare low pollution products.
In March, 2006, the first international product certification project Eli (efficient lighting initiative) implemented by Chinese certification bodies was officially launched, which is the first time that Chinese certification bodies have jumped onto the international product certification stage. The China Certification Center for winning the bid, which undertakes the implementation of Eli project this time, will establish a new global efficient lighting product certification system conducive to Chinese enterprises, and continue to promote the technical specifications of Eli products on the existing basis, which will be adopted by domestic and foreign bulk procurement, DSM, government procurement and other projects.
